Pickleball in Turlock, California
Turlock's pickleball options center on Crane Park and Turlock Sport. Crane Park has two city tennis courts that are also used for pickleball and has hosted City of Turlock pickleball programming. Turlock Sport, part of Brenda Athletic Clubs, provides bookable pickleball court space and loaner paddles and balls. Turlock is also planning dedicated pickleball courts as part of the next phase of Montana Park, giving local players another public option to watch for as construction moves forward.
Where to Play Pickleball in Turlock
- Crane Park, 1555 E. Canal Dr., Turlock. The City of Turlock lists two tennis courts at this established neighborhood park, and the courts are also used for pickleball and city pickleball programming. Crane Park has restrooms, large shade trees, walking paths, picnic areas, a playground, and other recreation amenities. The city does not currently publish a standing pickleball open-play schedule on the park page, so do not assume that other players or nets will be available whenever you arrive. Check the City of Turlock park information and current recreation registration before planning around a class or organized session.
- Turlock Sport, 201 Tampa St., Turlock. Brenda Athletic Clubs offers pickleball at its Turlock Sport facility. The club's current pickleball page identifies Court 9 for pickleball and provides online court booking. Paddles and balls are available to borrow from the front desk. The club also describes its Turlock pickleball facilities as outdoor, so this should not be treated as an indoor pickleball option. Access is through the private athletic club, and players should confirm current membership or guest requirements before booking. Check Turlock Sport pickleball and book a court.
Coming to Montana Park
The City of Turlock plans pickleball courts as part of Phase 2 of Montana Park. The project also includes basketball courts, multi-sport courts, an outdoor fitness area, and an accessible playground. As of the city's February 2026 project update, final design was expected to be completed with bidding in spring 2026 and construction potentially beginning afterward. The pickleball courts should not yet be treated as an available place to play. Follow the Montana Park Phase 2 project for construction and opening updates.
New to Pickleball?
The City of Turlock has offered registered pickleball instruction at Crane Park, making the recreation program the first place to check for a local beginner class. Classes are session-based rather than a permanent weekly drop-in program. Use the City of Turlock sports and recreation page to reach current registration, or contact the Recreation Division at (209) 668-5594 for the next pickleball offering.
If you already know the basics and have people to play with, Turlock Sport provides a more predictable route because you can book pickleball court time. For individual instruction, use this site's Coaches section to find a local instructor.
Classes and Organized Pickleball
City pickleball programming at Crane Park is offered in registered sessions rather than as a permanent year-round schedule. Check the current City of Turlock recreation listings for active classes and registration.
Turlock Sport is primarily useful for reserving pickleball court time rather than relying on a published community drop-in schedule. The club's pickleball page links directly to its current court-booking system.
